The High Fire

Granny went into the kiln a couple of hours ago. This is the high (hot) firing. She will cook for about 6-8 hours, the kiln will get to about 3000 degrees before the firing is complete. After the kiln turns off, it will have to cool for about 12 hours before it has cooled off enough to open it see how Granny looks then. If you open it too soon, the cool air will crack the hot porcelain. Stay turned for the next stage of Granny coming to life.
