School has started again. I think I enjoyed the summer way too much. I forgot how much time all of the reading and assignments for school take. I'm not enjoying it at all. I'm having such a difficult time concentrating.
I have found the most wonderful man to spend my life with. He is just fantastic and wants to do things with me. I'm not used to that, but it sure is nice. I will post some pictures soon.
I am moving on with my life now, so I am going to change the name of my blog (getting rid of the old and moving on to the new). I haven't decided what I am going to change it to yet, but I'm hoping to come up with a name and get changed by the middle of next week. I'm trying to come up with something about "Steele" as that is Robert's last name. Any ideas out there?
Gotta go study. I hope everyone has a great day.

Finally, Some Good News!
Melissa (my sister) had her second chemo treatment this past Friday. Sounds like she tolerated this one better than the first one. She's very discouraged about losing her hair. Even though she knew this was going to happen, it's different when it actually does. She got a wig from the cancer society. She tried to get one last month, but when she went, they only had dark brown and black wigs. Melissa is blonde. They were nice and let her look through their book of wigs and pick one she liked and ordered it in blond for her. I couldn't imagine Melissa with dark hair, that just wouldn't be her.
Now, the good news. She had 5 lymph node biopsies done a couple of days before the first chemo treatment. They all came back negative. And last week she had a uterine lining biopsy and that also came back negative. So, the cancer hasn't spread anywhere. Very good news. She also says that the one tumor that she can feel already feels smaller and isn't prodtruding like it was, even after the first chemo treatment, so should shrink more with this second treatment.
It's about time there was some good news.

More Prayers Needed!
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that my sister needed prayers, she still needs prayers. She has been through just about every kind of U/S, CT scan, PET scan, etc and every blood test that you can imagine for the last couple of weeks, but still no surgery.
The PET scan results show that it doesn't look like the cancer has spread anywhere else in her body. The biopsy results show that the cancer is estrogen and HER-2 positive. This is a very fast growing and invasive kind of cancer and because of this, the doctors have decided that the best option is to do chemo for 4-6 months prior to doing the mastectomy. This will hopefully shrink the cancer spots and make it less likely that any cancer cells will dislodge during the surgery and spread to other parts of her body. So, she is scheduled to have a port-a-cath placed on Wednesday (May 19) and start the first dose of chemo on Friday (May 21). She will have a really strong chemo every 3 weeks for 3 months and then a less strong dose of chemo every week for a while. The doctors have told her that she will lose her hair in 3-4 days after starting the chemo next week. So, she needs all of the prayers that she can get as she starts this hard time of her life.
My aunt also needs some prayers. She was here for Adam's graduation and had gone to Maddox to eat. She fell down one step while leaving the restaurant and broke her leg. Her osteoporosis is so bad that Dr. Sumko wouldn't do the surgery to fix it. She needs an orthopedic/trauma/osteoporosis specialist to do it. She got to visit the hospital that I work in and spend the night on Med/Surg. She said she appreciated all of the help that the nurses and doctors gave her here and said that the care she received was excellent and she felt like a queen, and that she felt like she was the only patient that the nurses had to take care of. She had to wait until the swelling went down and be off her Plavix for a few days before the surgery, so we casted her leg here and she opted to fly back to Tennessee to have the surgery there. She made the flight OK, with special asssitance from the airlines and an ambulance picking her up at the airport to take her home. She will have surgery next week and would appreciate any prayers that you can give.
I appreciate any and all of your prayers for my sister and my aunt.

We have a Graduate in the Family!
Graduation yesterday was fantastic! It was a long day, but it was great. USU graduation started at 9:00am and then the Huntsman Business College graduation was at 4:00pm. We had such wonderful family support for Adam there. Richie (my oldest son), my dad, my mom's sister, Theda, and her husband, William (my favorite aunt and uncle), my mom's brother, Gary, and his girlfriend, Jessie were all there for the morning graduation. In the afternoon we had all of these and then a nice surprise in that some of Richard's family came. We had Richard's mom, Doris, and both sisters, Robbin and Joi, and also Kathy. It was of great of them to come support Adam.
Adam and I appreciate everyone that came to support him and especially thank all of my family that travelled from Tennessee for this wonderful accomplishment.
My mom and stepdad were also supposed to come, but stayed in Tennessee to help my sister during her surgery and recovery. She needs them more at this time.
Some pictures:
Our new graduate! (Isn't he handsome?)
I am so-o-o proud of him! He has worked extremely hard for this.
We had to show that he is now a "true" Aggie.
William, my dad in the back, Theda, Adam, Jessie, Gary and me.
Robbin, Doris, Adam and Joi.

Prayers Needed!
My sister needs your prayers. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. She has had 2 biopsies and the last one shows that the cancer is an invasive type and is grade 3. Her surgeon told her that grade 3 is the worst kind. She has 2 masses on the right side and is going to have to have a mastectomy (although she told them she has to have a matched set, so if they take one, take them both). She is meeting with a plastic surgeon today and then he and the surgeon will arrange their schedules to do the surgery together. Hopefully the surgery will be done soon.
So she needs all of the prayers that she can get and pray that they will be able to get all of the cancer and that is hasn't spread to the lymph nodes when they check them during the surgery.
She has 3 children that are 10, 8 and 5 and they need their mother for many more years to come.

Summer!
Today was the last day of school and I just turned in my last online assigment. Summer break! I'm hoping to finish painting my bedroom and maybe do some tiling on the kitchen floor over the summer.
My son is graduating from USU in a couple a weeks and I have a few people coming from Tennessee for that. It is going to be exciting. My dad is coming, then a couple of days later, my mom and stepdad, her sister and husband, and her brother and his girlfriend are coming. I'm going to have a house full of people. Other than my mom and dad, the others have never been west of Tennessee, so they are getting excited to come visit. New experiences. I can't wait.
